Oceanology

Oceanology or oceanography studies the large-scale interaction between the ocean and the atmosphere and its long-term variability. Oceanology essentially represents a set of disciplines studying the physical, chemical, and biological processes occurring in the ocean as a whole, in its individual regions (regional oceanology), in marginal and inland seas.
