Piezoresistive Sensitive Element
The silicon sensitive element on a glass substrate is placed on a stainless steel base and isolated from the environment by a thin-film diaphragm. The internal space is filled with silicone oil. Pressure acts on the diaphragm and, through the silicone oil, further acts on the sensitive element. The primary pressure transducer is tested for temperature resistance and linearity, and a special compensation mechanism is programmed based on tests of each pressure sensor produced by KELLER.

Low-Cost Pressure Transducers
Nickel diaphragms in brass housings are hardened at high temperature (series 6M) or steel diaphragms and steel housings in the case of series 6S – the basis for low-cost production of pressure sensors for various industrial fields.

Primary Pressure Transducer
Primary pressure transducer – a complete sensor ready for use. This device has a process connection, integrated compensation mechanisms, and an electrical connector.
Primary transducers have an unamplified output signal suitable for reception by a separate amplifier device. Primary transducers can be interchangeable elements in sensors.

Pressure Transducers
In pressure transducers, a full cycle of measurement signal conversion takes place. Usually, the output signal (0…100 mV, 0…10 V, 4…20 mA, etc.) does not depend on the supply voltage, except for so-called ratiometric transducers.

Series 21 Transducer
Absolute pressure, with cable output
The accuracy of the transducer is best described by the interval between confidence limits, which includes the error over the entire pressure measurement range at the maximum allowable temperature. However, most often sensors are characterized by intervals at room temperature, including linearity, repeatability, and zero drift.
Main Accuracy Classes of KELLER Budget Pressure Transducers:

Capacitive Pressure Transducers
For measuring pressure within a few mbar, a steel diaphragm is not suitable. The company CALVICO from the USA produces capacitive sensors with an accuracy of about 0.2% FSO, which is suitable for most applications in production automation.
KELLER uses these extremely stable sensitive elements in its production of high-precision pressure transducers for low measurement ranges.
