
Sensors operating on the NDIR principle have a detector that measures the intensity of infrared light of a specific wavelength absorbed by the surrounding air. This process takes place in the measuring chamber of the device, and this chamber must allow the infrared beam to freely reflect off the walls, i.e., the quality of the measuring chamber coating directly affects the accuracy and durability of the device.
Most sensors on the market use a multilayer gold coating, which has several drawbacks, such as aging, susceptibility to corrosion, and negative environmental impact during production. SenseAir offers a fundamentally new type of measuring chamber coating: multilayer EQC coating. Extensive experience in manufacturing sensors with various gold coating options allowed the company's engineers to create a coating that surpasses gold in many key parameters.

The coating successfully passed numerous extensive tests; samples of various configurations were exposed to ozone, hydrogen peroxide, and ammonia. The full list of tests includes:
