Protective Cover COMETEO for Weather Stations — F8000 and F8001

Description

The naturally ventilated protective housing Cometeo F8000 is designed to protect temperature, humidity, weather monitoring sensors, and data loggers. The Cometeo F8001 is intended to protect weather sensors with diameters from 13 to 18 mm.

The Stevenson multi-plate screen is used to protect weather monitoring systems and provides the most accurate climate measurement results. The uniquely designed housing minimizes solar radiation exposure to the sensor, minimizes radiation absorbed by the screen, and increases the flow of ambient air around the weather station sensor. The sun-exposed surface is made of UV-reflective and durable ASA plastic. The inner surfaces of the screen are made of matte black plastic to minimize internal reflections. The large diameter of 210 mm with 14 plates is designed to provide full sensor protection.

Each of the fourteen black louvers has a round slit allowing air to pass vertically through the entire protective housing. The slit also separates the sunlit part of the louver from the interior, thus preventing heat transfer to the sensors.

Inside the plates, there is a cylindrical space with a diameter of 110 mm and a height of 210 mm for installing climate measurement equipment.

The complex design prevents insects from building nests inside the housing, thereby avoiding degradation of measurement quality.

An inexpensive replacement for a meteorological shelter, less demanding in maintenance. The Cometeo protective housing provides more reliable instrument readings due to lower sensor time constant values.
