Description
The VA 420 insertion flow meters use a proven thermal anemometric measurement principle. The heated sensor is cooled by the airflow passing by it. The degree of cooling, which serves as an indicator of flow, directly depends on the mass of the passing gas. For this reason, no additional measurement of temperature and pressure is required. The compact design of the sensor allows it to be used for monitoring any compressed air systems: from compressors to very small devices (diameters from 1/4 to 2 inches). For diameters larger than DN50, it is better to use VA 400 sensors. In addition to compressed air, the VA 420 flow meter can also measure the flow of other gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, CO2, etc. The sensor installation can be done quickly and without special effort. A separate advantage is the removable measuring part. It can be easily dismantled for calibration or cleaning without removing the entire insertion section.
Advantages
- Simple installation;
- Choice of measurement units: m³/h, m³/min, l/min, l/s, kg/h, kg/min, kg/s, cfm;
- Compressed air counter up to 1,999,999,999 m³, resettable from the display;
- Analog output 4...20 mA, pulse output (galvanically isolated);
- High measurement accuracy, including at low flow rates (ideal for leak detection);
- Negligible pressure loss;
- Thermal anemometric measurement principle, no additional pressure and temperature measurement required, no moving parts;
- Gas type configurable via software (nitrogen, oxygen, CO2, nitric oxide, argon).
ATTENTION, currently the device is discontinued, the modern improved model is — VA 520
