Description
The SCHMIDT® SS 20.200 flow velocity relay operates on the principle of a thermal anemometer. This is the same high-tech principle used in flow sensors. The relay can be used in systems with pressures up to 10 bar. However, unlike a sensor, the relay outputs a discrete signal rather than an analog one. The medium temperature is also determined. The SS 20.200 is a temperature-compensated device, so the velocity measurement is not affected by temperature fluctuations.
A special sensitive element technology, providing a wide installation angle range (radial – 360°; axial – 45°), allows for quick and safe relay installation. The relay can be mounted using a flange or compression fitting. The switching point can be set either directly on-site using a potentiometer or in advance according to customer requirements. The relay’s response to crossing the threshold value is optional: the relay can either close or open.
Thanks to the design of the sensitive element, the flow velocity relay can be used in dusty gas environments. If dirt gets on the sensitive element, the user can easily clean it. On request, a version of the relay with a protective coating is also available, making the device resistant to aggressive media such as acetone, sulfuric and hydrochloric acids, as well as many others.
