Description
This device is used for drilling holes in pressurized pipelines and is applied when installing submerged flow meters for compressed air and gases.
One of the main advantages of submerged flow meters (such as VA 500) is the extreme ease of installation – to install the device, it is enough to drill a hole in the pipeline through which the sensor probe will be placed into the flow of gas passing through the pipe. This is an ideal solution for applications where it is not possible to stop production to install flow meters.
However, if the medium in the pipeline is under pressure, even drilling a small hole can cause significant difficulties. For such tasks, it is recommended to use a special drilling chuck. The chuck is connected to a ball valve mounted on the pipeline, after which a hole is drilled in the pipeline using a regular drill. Metal shavings fall into a special filter equipped in the chuck and can later be easily removed. All this makes the process of drilling under pressure safe and convenient.
