Description
The M5 pressure transducers are a modification of the 23 series sensors with a remote sensor. The M5 pressure transducers with a dynamic range from 0 to 50 kHz and M5 thread for process connection are optimized for both dynamic (e.g., fast pulsations) and static pressure measurements. The sensor design makes it highly compatible with the environment and allows measurements at temperatures up to 200°C without a cooling adapter.
Electronic Components
The M5 HB transducer chips are specially designed to take advantage of the high dynamic range of the M5 sensor. Although the signal is retuned in real time by a high-precision digital compensation circuit, it remains fully analog. This allows maintaining the full dynamic range and high sensor accuracy across the entire bandwidth from 0 to 50 kHz. The remote signal converter, operating in the range from -40 to 125°C, meets the extraordinary requirements of harsh environments, such as those found in engine test benches. The sensor itself (see the brochure dedicated to M5), equipped with an 80 mV analog output (at 1 mA supply), is also suitable for these applications. In this configuration, the sensor is supplied together with a card containing up-to-date information on the factory calibration tests of the device.
Technology
The M5 series sensors include a stable silicon sensitive element soldered on the back directly to the reference element, specially designed to create perfect hydrodynamics. This
design does not have the drawbacks associated with the use of sealing materials, adhesives, separating membranes, or capillary tubes in high-temperature environments. The open membrane installation type allows providing an excellent dynamic range from 0 to 50 kHz. The micromechanical design provides an absolute pressure range up to 3, 10, or 30 bar, protection against 5-fold overloads, and effective isolation during installation.
